Dixie and Hydro are Best Friends

Despite the large size difference these two get along famously.

Dixie, the little one, has been with us for about a year now while Hydro, rescued by Randy in the Summer of 2011, outweighs her by 50 pounds.

But dixie doesn't seem to notice.

Sometimes Dixie is on top and other times Hydro has  his way.

I give up ?

And sometimes after a tussle it is nice to get some quiet time in a safe spot.

Hydro overflows Dixie's bed in the front window!

Whatever life Hydro had before he made it to the shelter is still a mystery, but he is a very sweet, loveable guy.

And we think Dixie is the definition of "Cute".

Birthdays Were Celebrated This Summer - 2011

Laura and Randy Celebrated Their Birthdays by Preparing Dinner for us All

and we took this opportunity to take our family photos, Kendalyn and Laura here

And Randy

Grandpa celebrated his 70th Birthday

He got lots of presents including a Dr. Seuss Book and Laura baked a special cake.

And he was taken out to eat at Dodge City USA in Harrisburg, which had this welcome sign.

Kendalyn enjoyed her French Onion soup

Later she and Randy kick back at the RV.

Model Train Museum with Kendalyn

Visit to Pennsylvania Model Train Museum with Kendalyn

We weren’t sure how this would go with Kendalyn and her interest in electronic and computer games.

It was as much fun for Grandpa as for Kendalyn as he, once upon a time, dabbled with model trains starting in his living room while courting Cathy!

Lego trains were fascinating...

After lunch, we saw the real thing, the Famous Strasburg Railroad!

 Next stop, Miniature Horse Farm

The stalls in the barn are tailored to the small size of the horses with convenient openings for them to stick their heads out for petting!

Our young guide was a bit of a comedian who had a constant patter of one liners.

Pretty tough duty for these two
on this day!

Kendalyn had fun on her two laps around the field
